66920. A Report Of The Texas City Disaster. April 17, 1947. KTBC, Austin, Texas. Sustaining. An eyewitness account by two students who made wire recordings at the site of the explosion. A French ship, being loaded with chemicals, blew up in the harbor. Most of Texas City was destroyed, five hundred sixty one people were killed, three thousand were injured. Wire recordings made a half mile from the explosion are played. The middle public service announcement and station I.D. have been deleted.
