93823. Wanted. July 14, 1950. NBC net. "The Case Of State Senator Warren Hooper". Sustaining. 10:00 P.M. (EST). Senator Hooper is found dead in a car in Michigan. "One of the filthiest (stories) smashed through the newspapers of the nation." The January 11, 1945 story of the "Purple Gang" is told by narration, statements, tape recordings of the participants in the case, as well as actors. "The Voice Of The Underworld" sums up the case. A fascinating radio format, audibly edited on tape (one music cue is late, tape is being heard cued on the air). Where is Myron Selick, the man with small feet? 71103. Wanted. July 28, 1950. NBC net. "The Angel". Sustaining. From WTAM, Cleveland, the police chief describes how the listeners of "Wanted" helped the police catch a killer hiding under a bed. The story of Fred Tenuto, a crazed Philadelphia killer (known as "The Angel") is told, using actual police and people who were involved in the case. The program opening is slightly upcut. Actual witnesses to the crimes of Harry Campbell and Glen Roy Wright (on April 14, 1932) tell their stories. A good show and a great program idea. The real witnesses and actors are mixed together. The story of Omar August Pinson (John) is told by recordings of the actual people involved in his life and crimes. A well-done portrait of the criminal, who was still at large at the time of the broadcast. At the end of the program, a description of Pinson is given. "The Voice Of The Underground" (described as a "talking police blotter") has a final warning for listeners. Walter McGraw (performer, producer, director), P. L.
